Hello and welcome to my blog, reader :)
This blog will follow my travels around the world. In the forecoming posts I will tell you more about myself, what I've done so far, and what is hopefully in store for the future. For starters, here's a short recap and a brief introduction:
My name is Miika. I come from Finland, and at the time I am 25-year old I.T nerd, who has lived a rather ordinary, career-oriented and no-thrills life back home. All that was about to change when I became interested of seeing more of the world a few years ago, influenced by stories of long-time travellers. And now there's no going back.
A bit over a year ago I started planning my first trip with another travel-enthusiastic friend, and on June 15th of 2009, we started our journey from the cold depths of the north. A lot has happened since then. At the time when this post is written, I'm sitting in my apartment in Melbourne, Australia, a bit tired of a day's work. It's thursday, and after tomorrow's work it's a well-earned free weekend.
What happened in-between (and what are the plans of the future) we will go through soon. In the meantime, I look forward in seeing you here again, and I hope you'll enjoy the stories I will share with you. The traveller's life is full of magic, joy, experiences and sometimes hardship, of which overcoming makes it even more worthwhile.
I will share my travel stories, photos and videos with you in the blog, hopefully inspiring you to take that important step to go out to the world; to experience new things, to break the routine and free yourself from the ordinary, usual and boring.
